New men's jersey:

 -

Not a fan. Looks like they went to the sale rack at Kohl's, bought a shirt made by a company named something like Outdoor Comfort, and slapped logos on it.

Fucking awful. Indeed, not only does it not look like a soccer jersey, it looks like those shirts favored by Southern frat boys.

Edit: FYI, don't do a google image search for "frat boys".

But you can't "pop" the collar . . .

It reminds of the "sand" Barca away that I was never fond of (but others here liked).

You know that was my first thought, but that jersey didn't have the different shading--it's like this one has really wide, slightly different hoops. Plus, that was an away shirt (or 3rd?), so it wasn't taking something familiar and messing with it.

My favorite US shirt was the 2006 World Cup one, with the stripe down the left side, under the crest.

My rating for that jersey-10

(that's not a hyphen, it's a negative sign.)

I don't think I'd use that as a rag. Or toilet paper.

As far as Inca's assertation, the British might say "spot on." We would say "Dead on" in the Eastern Part of the United States of America.

Kohls ? Damn that store gives me the willies. It's the next store over from Wegmans in Princeton, and each time I pass it I get the chills from the 10 seconds it took for me to say "Hmmm, new store, I've never heard of it, I should check it out" and "O" "M" "F" "G".

Andrew Jacobson of Cal has signed a professional contract with Lorient of Ligue 1 after a successful trial. They've given him the number 4, so he might actually see some playing time.

It definitely needs a collar so Landon can go golfing in it.

That is one awful kit. It looks like a shirt your mom might make out of old material and uses red piping to cover the seams.

Not sure if this was mentioned but Martin Vasquez is going to be the #2 at Bayern.. I was wondering if Klinsi would bring Bruce along but I guess not..

anyway, i like the new jersey..

Never really knew why Vasquez never got a shot at a head coaching job in MLS. Anyway, good for him.

the Huckerby thing - i think there might be something in it, though any move would happen in the summer. he's said in recent years that norwich would be his last english club, and hinted that this might be his last season here. he knows brennan and robinson. and left wing is his best position if thats a slot that needs filling. so it seems plausible

i think he's probably still got it in him to do well over there, for a year or two anyway, assuming he can get over his current niggly fitness problems.

What's all this then.. Looks like I'm getting my very own MLS team.. Go away JV, you're not allowed south of Exit 6.

That is a remorselessly crap shirt we get to wear. Nike needs to stop tinkering stat.

Last year #1 draft choice to Hertha. This year's #2 to Lorient. Sigh.

Meanwhile in Rochester, the Rhinos ownership has managed to default on $11 million of loans, or so says the City of Rochester, and are looking toward this white knight to save them. If he doesn't drop another $130 million on buying Blackburn Rovers.
