Well, either it's a centralised organisation with a heirarchical core or it's a broad non-authoritarian organisation with room for various different voices. I mean, make your mind up.
One assumes that yer complex theologgers are not the majority; that's my reading of what WE was saying.

You like your answers simple, don't you, SSS. Nuances are just a nuisance to you.
Of course the uninformed are in the majority. As they are in the general public. If that really was WE's point, then he must be aiming for the Stating The Bleedin' Obvious Award.

Where's the "nuance" here? That there's a lot of variation in-between the extremes? I think you might have just won the silver.

No, the nuances are in the meaning and application of doctrines. In the RCC, not everything is straightforward and black & white. That's what toro and I have been trying to communicate.
But, look, I'm not interested in getting into another debate about the Catholic Church. It'll end up in name-calling, and unplesantness for everybody else. Let's leave it.

Shirty posting self-censored. Been working too hard I think.
But see, here's the thing. I don't really think you're being consciously evasive, but I do think you're being pretty un-Socratic on these threads. You seem to be using Philosophy to find ways of arguing round the objections to your already existing view of the world. Your intense anger when anyone tries to clarify what you mean is quite scary.

Intense anger? You are reading my posts with funny voices, aren't you. I might get atad annoyed when I get accused of being a disgusting apologist for the cover-up of child abuse, which is a vile slander unsupported by facts. And I might get testy at times, but I'm hardly the only one in these debates.
Love Thy Neighbour might be fictional, but the socialist racist character surely had many real-life counterparts in old Blighty. I've met a few, but happily don't remember their names or how my association with them came about.

I think WE's first post was addressed to The Cunt, G-Man.
As for the apologist for the cover up of child abuse, we went over it at length, and the facts do indeed support that position. You concoct elaborate reasons why the cover up was legitimate, and also attempt to convince people that it didn't even happen given half the chance.
Now, get over it and stop whinging. How many times do you want to lose the same argument?

It's about time. It's not even a proper dance. It's just pissing about with a stick, at the end of the day.

Wait--I thought limbo and purgatory were the same thing. What's the difference?
