I take no responsibility for the quality of these almost certainly made-up rumours. Just passin' it on.

It is alleged that a certain Premiership bigwig got the services of a star of the future by promising him a place in the England squad for the WC. Following so far…

A certain Manager got a higher salary and extended terms to include this player.

Also transpired that the certain manager wasn’t in full charge of picking the team and pressure from sponsors/governing body to have a certain ‘Super Star’ play all the games was happening.
