A few minutes in and Martin Taylor gets a red for a dreadful tackle on Eduardo.

The Arsenal players looked sickened more than angry. A grey-faced Fabregas started screaming for the physio before Eduardo had settled on the ground.

The BBC are talking about a broken leg.

Sky are not showing any replays because of the 'disturbing nature of the pictures' or somesuch. Sounds nasty.

From Scott Murray on the Grauniad Minute by Minute:

quote:
Apologies for not watching the football for a couple of minutes - it's basically a training session anyway - but I've just seen a picture of Taylor's challenge, and it is completely and utterly disgraceful. Flying through the air studs up, he lunges in halfway up the shin of Eduardo's standing leg. The striker's leg clean snaps at a right angle; no wonder Fabregas was holding his head in his hands the minute he saw it. It's going to be an ethical dilemma for sports editors across the country, this picture.

1 - 0 McFadden.

Worst still for Eduardo they've taken him straight to Selly Oak Hospital!

[On second thoughts name of legendarily incompetent S.O.H. consultant orthopaedic surgeon redacted.]

Great free kick but it shouldn't have been awarded.

Yes it should it was quite clearly a foul.

It's like a pre-season friendly now isn't it? Hardly a tackle being made, and a quiet crowd.

And of course Eduardo can now forget about Euro 2008 as well. Big loss for Croatia.

As for the free kick Flamini blocked McFadden after the ball had been given to Gallas.

Flamini blocked McFadden

Not watching this game myself, but wouldn't that be obstruction? Or do you mean something else?
