A friend is going to be in Wayne, NJ filming for a few days. Anybody know anything at all about the place?

It sucks.

I got nothing good to say about it. It's just far enough away from the city to be a pain to get in there too.

A currently active thread, too. What were the odds?

Lower than those of my winning the Giro, but still daunting.

I am more interested to find what in Wayne could possibly hold anyone's attention for several days.

Is your friend doing a comparative study of idle teenagers?

A comparative study of elderly ladies, as it happens.

It's the type of place that may have a killer restaurant or two, but like FF says, it's in the middle of nowhere. Too far from Newark-Jersey City-Hoboken, too far from NYC, too far from Lake Hopatcong, too far from the clothing outlets that MX likes frequenting over the border on 287 in NY...it's just hills and corporate offices and strip malls.

There's some malls and a nice park, but that's it. The only city it's near is Paterson, which may be the second-worst city in NJ other than Camden.

And it's fairly easy to get to the Garden State Plaza from there. Woohoo!

We went to the Garden State Plaza, but we also went to Paramus Park and to Woodbury Common, which is the place jv was referring to that Malcolm X likes to go to when he's here. Woodbury Common is the one that's about an hour away.

Is that the place where it rained?

Paramus Park, that rings a bell. Did you buy jewellery there?

The place where it rained was Woodbury Common. Garden State Plaza was where I bought jewellery and you bought t-shirts. I can't remember what we did at Paramus Park, but it has the same store where you bought the t-shirts and an Old Navy, so that's probably what we did there.

A-ha. now it all falls into place.

I should take more photos, as a rule.

I can go take some pics of myself standing in front of the mall and you can pretend you took them.
