They're funny initially, but after you've seen them for the first thirty times you just want to.....

Did you really think they were funny initially?

Jesus no. The Apres match boys are only saying what everyone is thinking though.

I smiled the "flat pack four" one when I first saw it.

But jesus, they don't have to keep repeating them five or six times a match, for every match. That's 384 ads.

And the three telecom one with the guy on the bus and his magic balloons is pissing me off too.

The only funny one is the one they show at half-time with a Spanish-speaking country playing.

First announcer: "So what would you say to them at half time?"
Second announcer reels of team-talk in fluent Spanish.

or is it my smutty mind????

It's your smutty mind.

I think the Domino pizza ad people are safe. After all, Michael Owen is shown sitting down, and he'll be doing a lot of that for the next few weeks. Compare with his crazed runabout in an Asda store. Funny how just being in one normal seated position can improve the course of one advertising campaign and destroy another.

The Apres match boys are only saying what everyone is thinking though.

Nonsense. There were about 30 of these things, and at least half of them were genuinely amusing.

Of course, they seem incredibly unamusing upon the fifth or sixth viewing, let alone the 20th or 30th, but that's not the scriptwriters' fault.

Did the rest of the world get Jose+10 foisted upon them, or was it only here in the U.S.? I loved these ads the first thousand times, but when the cruel irony of it being Lamps' only goal in the WC finally sunk in, well, I just wanted Jose to hoof it swiftly back to "a casa."

edited for too much Eye-tye wine

And the three telecom one with the guy on the bus and his magic balloons is pissing me off too.

It's the music on that one that drives me around the bend. It's like the demo mode on a little 1983 Casio keyboard.

Is it me, or when that particular ad's on, it's gratingly loud?

I posted this on another forum - those 3 ads are the most annoying, because they combine:

* The usual pointless kitsch-weirdness you get from 3
* Rubbish comedy clips taken out of context
* Short (one line) clips of bland songs designed to get stuck in your head, going round and round (one line, remember) for ever
* The fact that video clips on your mobile is the most pointless technology ever. I mean, who cares?
* Being on in every single ad break

Make it stop.

Soulless feckers.
