Anyway, surely the diminutive of Ricardo is Ric, for heaven's sake. Not the misspelt repeated second syllable.

Although, Billy and Ted are hardly obvious contractions or William and Edward.

The version I've heard is that his younger brother couldn't spell his name Ricardo when he was a kid, so called him Kaka.
