Falkirk is a great club. They always seem to produce proper football sides.

Thank you Celta, anyone ?

Falkirk's manager is John Hughes, who played at centre-back for Celtic in 95/96, the season when they only lost one match but still didn't win the league.

He was very effective in an ungainly sort of way. He scored with a wonderful leaping header against Rangers in one of the Old Firm games that season.

He is not to be confused with John "Yogi" Hughes, who was a free-scoring striker in the Lisbon Lions team (but didn't play in the European Cup final).

I may be imagining this, but is John Hughes the younger not related in some way to Yogi Hughes?

Hearts win again.

Can they keep this up?

It was only Livingston, by far the worst side in the division. It would have been a huge surprise if Hearts hadn't won with a few goals to spare today.

They have Rangers at home on Saturday week, and a trip to Celtic Park on October 15, and then we will see how smart they are.

Smarter than the average Bear I'd imagine, and I fancy them to give Celtic a hard time as well.

Right, quiz time. How are the current SPL leaders linked with,

a) an English ground briefly infamous in the 80s for its plastic pitch

b) Division 3/ 'League 1' stalwarts who failed to manage a single Saturday win last term

c) east coast Scottish outfit who won Division 2 in 1985

d) insolvent Irishmen tipped for a quick return to the Premier League, assuming it doesn't shrink any further in size...

e) unrelated though namesake international teammates seeking to consolidate fourth place in the current World Cup qualifiers...

b) Both are managed by managers who have managed to get rid of Chris Swailes, although Burley actually bought the useless tosser, which is something neither Mick Harford nor his predecessor can boast.

My old man and I once drove to Falkirk for a Tuesday night game, but when we got there it had been called off because of fog. The only other thing Falkirk had to offer was the re-make of 'The Blue Lagoon' at the local cinema. We went home instead, and my only ever chance to visit Brockville evaporated into the misty Scottish night etc etc.

Bah. Literary brainteasers are wasted on you lot. Let's have one non-Ipswich related answer at least please...
