Does anyone know how many fanzines still operate nationally? We have a good one in Leicester, The Fox, but am keen to if there are others and how they are going.

I have no idea if The Deranged Ferret is still going. Havn't seen it sold on matchdays though. Used to be very good.

Moulin Rouge bit the dust at the end of last season, so there's only the London Miller (in its various guises) still going. And that's not for sale to the great unwashed...

And why did WSC discontinue that fanzine directory the used to have at the back of the mag?

The zine directory was dropped because the printed zines were being supplanted in many cases by websites and messageboards - and people tended not to tell us when they'd stopped publishing so it became impossible to keep the list up to date.

The Dismal Jimmy at Wrexham was instrumental in bringing the previous owners' intentions to the fans' attentions and, in no small part, saving the club.

Beyond The Boundary was sadly discontinued at the end of last season, a fine David Eyres interview signalling the end of an era.

Football would be a sadder place without fanzines...

None of our old ones are still around, but we have a new fanzine, the Womble Underground Press. It's a bit woo, to my mind, but sells well and paid for our trophy cabinet, and our womble costume.

"A Love Supreme" still going for sunderland.
The owner makes his living from it now as well as selling tshirts, hats, badges and coach trips to away games.

"Its the hope i cant stand", "The wearside roar" & "wise men say" have all fell away.

Theres a general NE football one around also featuring sun/newc/boro/darlomonkey hangers etc
