I think ad hoc's more or less right, although in the case of the Dodgers, we got on the hot streak after three good signings and got off it again when we were nobbled.

Thanks for reminding me of your winning streak......

I obviously haven't worked out how to manage streaks:

Yeah, nobbling needs to be taken out of the game really. I had a bad run after a nobbling ('rumours', I think), then got on a good run thanks to playing Tranz Am during rick's inactive phase. I also nobbled horse in a pre-emptive strike, as I thought that kind of thing would happen to me again.... Sorry horse.

That's OK, but yeah, the nobbling is just irritating. Glad to see it gone.

A bump for new players.

All welcome.

Do we have to actually be sitting in front of our computers and logged onto the site for the given kick-off time of each match, then? Does the site not play for us with tactics we can set up beforehand? Only I notice matches take place at 6pm Monday and Friday, whilst I don't finish work 'til 7 (and don't have internet access at work)...

No, you only need to be online for about 10 minutes roughly twice a week, and there's no advantage for being online at match time.

rick's inactive phase was when he didn't log-in for 2 months.

Folks - the updates are through on your players, and the window to the overpriced players is open again.

I have challenged Wildridings to a game, so I guess we can play friendlies.

Just what I was going to say.

I'll probably set up the league later today. First game maybe 2 weeks from now?

Actually, before I bother setting up the league, can I just get a quick vote on the following:

1) same league structure (1 top flight, 2 1st Division), 3 up/3 down (2 champions, the 2nd place team with the best record)

2) same league structure, 4 up/4 down (1st and 2nd place)

3) different league structure (1 top flight, 1 second division, 1 third division), 2 up/2 down (or 3 up/3 down)

By this weekend if there aren't many opinions, I'll just set it up the same (option 1).

A bigger churn is more likely to keep people interested, isn't it? So I vote for 3) (3 up/down). Or 2).

I'm with the Horse (surprisingly. this is not the first time I've said that. Ahhh... the joys of teenage dating!)
