So, Ryan Giggs return to the United side has brought the necessary leadership required, hence yesterday's victory. Good God, that is priceless.

What we need is a return to the good old days of Sherwood, Wise, Batty and Ince in midfield.*

I had to re-read every sentence in that blog twice. In that sense, it was a bit like reading Immanuel Kant. In every other sense, it was like reading the drunken ramblings of a shat out thread worm.

*Did England actually start with this line-up under Keegan, or am I dreaming it?

"A pundit is a scholar, a teacher, particularly one skilled in Sanskrit and Hindu law, religion, music or philosophy. In the original usage of the word, a pundit is a Hindu, almost always a Brahmin, who has memorized a substantial portion of the Vedas, along with the corresponding rhythms and melodies for chanting or singing them."

At Euro 2000, England's central midfield axis was comprised of Wise and Ince, with a combined age of about 87.

Mascherano sending-off
In isolation it wasnt a sending off but it was in accumulation and a lack of respect for the referee and after what we saw with Ashley Cole this week, has he not seen a newspaper or tv this week.

I think they should allow the captain, but he doesnt even allow the captain. Terry was up there and pulling people away. I bet afterwards Mike Riley said 'I wish I'd sent Ashley Cole off'.

Steve Bennett was the fourth official there and I bet he went home and told his missus: 'The next opportunity I get I'm gonna show a red card!'

Yup, that's what qualifies for post-coital chat at Casa Bennett, Tim.

Setanta should let gonzo sub his copy first.

I was, ahem, reading a copy of the Sun tonight in a cafe, as you do, and there was a column by Ian Wright bemoaning the current situation and proposing his Super Soaraway Suntastic 4 point plan to punish dissenters and their clubs.

That's Ian Fucking Wright.

I nearly choked on my stew.

I like the idea that been put about that John terry was being a good captain during the Cole incident.
