Hertha BSC have got a girl's name, but were named after a boat rather than a person.

All those South American teams names after famous military types: O'Higgins, Bolivar, General Belgrano, Admiral Brown and whatnot.

Chelsea
I was on the bus once listening to some pissed up girl going on about how she liked "Chelsea Dagger" by the Fratellis because it had her name in.

The small devil in my head started urging me to turn around and start screaming the old terrace favourite: "FUCK OFF CHELSEA! FUCK OFF CHELSEA! FUCK OFF CHELSEA!"

In South Africa, there are Jomo Cosmos and Kaizer Chiefs, named after their founders, ex-Cosmos New York player Jomo Sono and "Kaizer" Motaung, whose misspelt nickname, acquired on account of his skillfulness, is so pervasive, I don't even remember hus real name.

There used to be a club called Ria Stars, named after their female owner, Ria Letwaba.

And there is a plastic club in Cape Town named after either a detergent or a dog.

Quinton Fortune and Mohammed Kallon have done this, haven't they? In fact, hasn't Fortune's club been and gone?

Vain gubbers.
