Looking back at those photos, I don't know why the Outspan thing would offend him. He out to be flattered, Outspan looks cool as fuck. Whereas Frames man looks like he's being forced to sing at gunpoint.

I keep thirty five biros in each duffel coat pocket so that when I lurch forward to pick up a cigarette that has fallen out of my mouth onto the floor, they all come spilling out onto the lino. Then I run round roaring and picking up pens while my burning cigarette is actually just stuck in my beard, along with other pens.

That's what I used to do when I was rock and that's what the Ginger Prince should do now instead of absent mindedly thinking about *that* chest of drawers from Habitwat.

There is a good atmosphere at their gigs and their fans are fairly passionate so I enjoyed it when I was dragged along to the Olympia to see them. They're fairly rubbish at festivals or big stage gigs though. If it's a small venue you'll enjoy.

Right, I'm just listening to a Frames song right now, which is called - no shit - "Teardrops In My Wine".

It's fucking horrible. Like Deacon Blue or some shit.

Fack me, the website says they've made 8 lps.

The Frames are one of those bands who are huge in Ireland but couldn't get arrested anywhere else.

There is a disturbingly large appetite in this country for beetle-browed student angst.

The Connells' '74, 75' just leapt into my head unbidden. Did they have any other songs in Ireland, or were they a one-off thing there too?

Can I be the first to welcome our new ginger, pen sporting, Gap jeans wearing, slightly melancholy overlords to the third rock left of the sun?

'Teardrops In My Wine' is a pretty dreadful title right enough. It's like he thought, "I want to write a song about crying into my pint... only classier..."

Not now man! Do you not see their leader dribble into his pomegranate juice (for his fair love has yet to return his call today)?

You see, I'd probably go out and buy a single called Mucous in my Flirtini before I'd even heard it. He's just chosen the wrong fluids.
