can I just take this opportunity to revise every opinion ever held on The Top...in 1984 I was convinced it was the last word in wilful indulgence and ego gone mad...

obviously Robert Smith was ahead of his time and particularly mine...in 2007 it sounds fresh as a daisy and has been played more in the last few weeks than the 20 years in between..

Only 6 days to go until the highlight of the year.
Any other OTF'ers going along?

I'm going with the GLC and a couple of friends so I'll see you down there.

There is the tiniest, tiniest chance I may get to interview the man himself but I'm not going to hold my breath.

If you do, can I be your tape-recorder holder?
I promise not to wet myself with excitement.

Do you know what time they're on?
And we should try to meet up before or after. It's been fucking ages since we had a beer.

I'm going too.

Haven't seen them live since they played the Shepherds Bush Empire a good few years back, and all the old excitement has come rushing back.

Trying to find a decent place to meet up before hand. There are no pubs round that way, so I might be meeting my mate at Paddington for a pint before going up on the Bakerloo.

Shepherds Bush Empire eh? That must have been a while ago.

Ok, I'm up for the Paddington idea. I'll probably get off work early as I have to get up there to see the support band.

I have the whole day off, so I'm easy. The Cure are onstage around 8 apparently. (I called the venue.)
It's at Wembley Arena, GO.

I was there for Bill Bailey last November. We found a reasonable pub about five minutes away. I'll see if I can find it for you.
