I don't want to make you jealous, people, but I can hardly hide my smug superior smirk at the discovery that my membership number is the smallest positive non-prime Carol number.

Sounds kind of Christmassy.

That Carol number thing was interesting.

So to create a carol number you do - [(4 to the power n) - (2 to the power (n-1)) − 1]

What do you get if you substitute 3 for 4, or 5 for 2 or 17 for -1? Respectively - Mary, Mungo and Midge numbers?
And what do we have to do to get Fanny numbers - <Rik Mael as Flashman> just flash them a glimpse of my member number?

I've just had another look at that Wiki entry on "Carol numbers". Sounds as though the expression is a recent coinage by one implausibly named Cletus Emanuel, who named the numbers after "a friend, Carol G Kirnon". Wouldn't surprise me if it turned out that he wrote the Wiki entry himself.

Well, it's out there, now, Cletus. Too late to change the name if Ms Kirnon starts dating that asshole quarterback frat boy in the next block.
