I've been tying my brow into a clove-hitch over this one too. Nevertheless, it's a fantastic game and Dr Hof is to be warmly applauded for its introduction.

I'm not very good at cryptic clues, but wouldn't "oddly" normally imply alternate letters of what follows? Which in this case gives you isnernsok.
