Is there already a thread about Heather Mills getting £25 million out of Paul McCartney? I can't find one.

Sir Paul was asked yesterday if he thought he would ever go down on one knee again.

He replied: "I'd prefer if you called her Heather . . ."

It's quite amusing to see this thread side by side with "Do you believe in capitalism?"

I'm one of the minority of people who actually liked her more after her legendary GMTV outburst (admittedly, starting from a fairly low base).

That said, I laughed a hollow laugh when she complained this morning about her daughter "only" getting £35,000 per year. "Which means that her father will travel A-class and she'll travel B-class. But it's OK, I'll pay for that..."

For fuck's sake. If a child can't live a happy and rounded life on 35,000 a year (with a mother who's now worth £25 million), there's something wrong somewhere.

My main worry, given her low standing in the eyes of the public, is that she will henceforth be more of a liability to the animal rights cause than a helper to it.

Annoying as she is, I do object to people making cracks about her having an artificial leg.

Christ, there's plenty of other reprehensible characteristics with which to attack her without resorting to that.

SP- indeed.

I dunno, 25 million doesn't sound too far off the mark to me. They were married for three years and had a kid, if I remember correctly. It wasn't a fling or a shotgun marriage.

What's the point in getting that close to a baby seal if you haven't got a club?

It is hard to come out as sexist or pro-McCartney when criticising her but, as SR points out, her pleas of financial hardship at the press conference were ludicrous.

As with all such stories I know nothing about her really but she does come across as really dislikeable and with a lack of perspective. Any child that gets £35000 a year and has the oppurtunity to travel regularly on a plane in any class is lucky.

The judge wasn't impressed with her testimony as well

quote:
"I am driven to the conclusion that much of her evidence, both written and oral, was not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid".

Their child looks a lot different from how I expected in that pic above.

Fair comment, Stumpy, but as I always say, why have an expensive laugh when you can have a cheap one . . .

Interesting that the press have been printing what are clearly the most mad-eyed, least flattering pictures of Mills that they have at their disposal. I believe she threw a glass of water over one of McCartney's barristers in court yesterday.

"if 25 million isn't enough she could, you know, get a fucking job.

What, exactly, is her "career" other than being famous for being the wife, and now ex-wife, of an ex-Beatle?

£35,000 is (assuming I've got my exchange rate math correct) a very good salary for anyone, let alone the daughter of someone with £25 million. And I imagine her dad will come up with good Christmas presents too - horses, small islands, etc.

I see Heather lost her appeal - apparently the judge says her tax returns show no charitable givings despite claims she gives 80% of her earnings to charity!

She was in modelling, not all of which involved getting her tits out.
