Despite spending years and years studying French and liking a lot of French novelists a great deal, I've never really been moved much by their drama. Because of vagaries of courses, all I've really read/seen are the old classicists, Racine and Corneille, who don't appear to add much to what the Greeks achieved (who would, I suppose?), Moliere who I can't see anything in at all, and the twentieth century philosophical dramatists who just seem to be preaching.

There must be less well known playwrights worth checking out. Any thoughts?
