Why? We can use it when the Europe wide rugby union and cricket tournaments take place.

You can bookmark the forum...I don't know if you can post when forums/fora disappear, though...I remember when the site changed a while ago, the World Cup forum vanished, but it's still floating around somewhere.

A suggestion for our fine Webmasters...

How about for each tournament, post a link to the archives. It would've been fun reading the Euro2000 threads before this tournament. So in 2006, we can read the Japa/Korea 2002 threads, and so on.

Now do it, jerkys.

The 2002 World Cup board is here.

I've seen the Euro 2000 section of the old board and there didn't seem to be much happening on it. Very few posts.

'Cos it started off as just one forum - 'rantscentral' where everything from film to books to politics was posted, as well as Euro 2000 stuff. The forums got split at the end of 2000 due to performance problems, and "rantscentral" was put into several archives. The archives, and the un-archived stuff are at www.cmupdate.com/oldotf.htm

There were also a few specialised forums around Euro 2000, like matchreports, and eurodiary (WSC posts only), they're probably the ones that didn't have many posts.

I remember the 2000 Final thread was great, with all of the whiny crybaby Italianfans whining and crying like tiny Strawberry Shortcakes because the ref added 4 minutes of added time before they had their black hearts crushed.

As OTF Historian AV said, there was definitely a lot of material, it's just scattered all over the place. 2002 was the first year that otf had threads for each individual match, with crawling or walking (not running) commentary - but otf moved beyond a few geeks from ezBoard into the big time with Euro2K.
